A statue in the image of Dany Laferrière in front of BAnQ

Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) unveiled on Tuesday a monument designed in honor of Dany Laferrière.

Designed by Roger Langevin, this sculpture by author Dany Laferrière now sits in the garden of the Grande Bibliothèque in Montreal.

The Montreal writer of Haitian origin and member of the Académie Française is represented there seated at the top of a series of steps citing a passage from “The Exile is worth the journey”. This novel was published last June by Editions du Boréal.

Remember that the outdoor exhibition “Un cœur nomade”, also orchestrated in homage to Mr. Laferrière, is accessible in the Quartier des spectacles until November 1.
