His neighbors tell him that he won the Nobel in economics!

A professor at Stanford University in the United States learned very early Monday morning that he had just won a Nobel Prize in economics, thanks to his neighbors.

Paul Milgrom was woken up by his neighbor Robert – Bob – Wilson, according to CNN. “You won the Nobel Prize,” Bob called to the video doorbell camera.

The two men worked together on the project which won them the prestigious award. However, the committee could not reach him.

Robert Wilson and his wife went to Paul Milgrom’s house to tell him. “Are you going to answer your phone now?” they joked at him.

They were awarded the prize for “improving auction theory and inventing new auction formats” to “benefit sellers, buyers and taxpayers around the world”.
