Chiefs find their feet

Pivotal Derek Carr amassed 347 yards and three touchdowns to help the Las Vegas Raiders topple Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, to the 40-32 count Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.

Thus, the Chiefs (4-1) suffered their first loss of the campaign. Henry Ruggs III, who totaled 118 yards in two aerial plays, Nelson Agholor and Darren Waller scored the Raiders air majors (3-2). Josh Jacobs ran into the opposing end zone twice. Vegas scored 21 points in the second quarter and another 16 in the last.

For local favorites, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed just 22 of his 43 passes but had 340 yards and two touchdowns, the work of Travis Kelce and Sammy Watkins.

The always perfect Steelers

In Pittsburgh, Chase Claypool had a full day with 110 yards and three touchdowns on seven catches, in addition to crossing the goal line on the ground, leading the Steelers to a 38-29 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Veteran Ben Rothlisberger amassed 239 yards with 27 successful passes on 34 occasions for the Steelers (4-0), unbeaten in 2020. James Conner added his two cents with a good run for six points.

For the Eagles (1-3-1), who remain in the game in the very weak East section of the National Association, Carson Wentz spotted two teammates in the pay zone, but saw as many of his stints grabbed by the enemy. Travis Fulgham did well with 152 yards and an overhead major.

Avaricious Ravens

In Baltimore, the Ravens continued their excellent start to the campaign by muzzling the Cincinnati Bengals’ offense in a 27-3 victory.

Sure enough, first-year Bengals (1-3-1) pivot Joe Burrow was limited to 183 passing yards, committing an interception. Meanwhile, the Ravens (4-1) quickly took control of the game with two touchdowns from Lamar Jackson in the first quarter; Mark Andrews and Marquise Brown captured these.

Running back Joe Mixon had 94 yards on offense, including 59 rushing, for the losers who avoided the shutout late in the game with a field goal from Randy Bullock. Cincinnati lost to AJ Green with a leg injury in the third quarter.

Elsewhere in the NFL

In Houston, the Texans finally savored a first victory in 2020, winning 30-14 ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars. In a winning case, Deshaun Watson threw three touchdown passes, including one to Brandin Cooks, who scored 161 yards from the air.

On the Atlanta side, the Falcons suffered a fifth loss in as many outings, losing 23-16 to the Carolina Panthers. Pivotal winner Teddy Bridgewater joined three teammates for the major and totaled 312 yards.

According to The Athletic, due to the team’s poor results, the organization could show head coach Dan Quinn the way out and an official announcement would be made on Monday or Tuesday.

Finally, at MetLife Stadium, the New York Jets’ misery continued with a stinging 30-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The Kyler Murray-DeAndre Hopkins combination wreaked havoc, the former amassing 380 passing yards and the latter scoring 131 yards and a touchdown in six receptions.
