Walmart Canada Ends Competitive Pricing Program

Walmart’s Competitive Pricing program, which allowed customers to lower the price of certain products by demonstrating evidence of a competing business, officially ended on Saturday.

The decision of the American multinational, announced almost a month ago, had been greeted with disappointment among customers of the chain.

“He leaves families down when the company made a lot of money during the pandemic while their stores remained open,” lamented the mother of two Vanessa Pineault, in an interview with the “Journal de Montréal”.

Walmart Canada justified its decision by “minimal use” of the program and increased waiting time at checkouts.

A little over a week ago, Walmart announced plans to hire 10,000 additional employees across the country.
