Cam Newton could face the Broncos

After testing positive for COVID-19 in early October, quarterback Cam Newton is reportedly preparing to join his New England Patriots teammates in training on Thursday, and could even play Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

This is what the ESPN network reported on Wednesday.

Newton tested positive for COVID-19 on October 2 and missed the Patriots game against the Kansas City Chiefs the following Monday. The Pats lost 26-10 as Brian Hoyer and Jarrett Stidham took over as pivot.

Newton had a strong start to the season in New England, generating six touchdowns and completing 68.1% of his passing attempts.

Several Patriots players have also contracted the disease in the past two weeks, forcing the team to temporarily shut down its facilities. The players were able to return to the scene on Wednesday.
