The Los Angeles Lakers were crowned NBA champions with a 106-93 win in Game 6 of the final between them and the Miami Heat on Sunday night in Orlando.
At the same time, LeBron James, at 35, won his fourth Larry-O’Brien trophy, after his triumphs of 2012 and 2013 with the Heat, and that of 2016 with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
James was particularly dominant in this last duel, amassing 28 points, in addition to obtaining 14 rebounds and 10 assists.
The Lakers quickly showed they didn’t want to play in Game 7 by grabbing an eight-point lead after a quarter. They increased the pace in the next, which allowed them to retreat to the locker room, at the half, with a lead of 64 to 36.
The Lakers had only to contain the Florida formation thereafter, in order to procure a 17e title to the Lakers franchise since its inception. They equalize the Celtics, who also have 17.
