Quebec reports 1,078 new cases

Quebec is now reporting 1,078 new cases of COVID-19, nine additional deaths and 16 more hospitalizations.

Yesterday, the province recorded 900 infections and seven deaths.

New health measures came into force today in schools located in the red zone.

“As you can see, the situation continues to be critical,” Prime Minister François Legault said during a meeting with the press.

THE SITUATION IN QUEBEC AS OF OCTOBER 8, 2020

– 82,992 people infected (+1078)

– 5915 deaths (+10)

* The total stands at 5,915 due to the withdrawal of 1 death for which the investigation showed was not attributable to COVID-19.

– 425 people hospitalized (+16)

– 68 people in intensive care (+6)

– The withdrawals carried out on October 6 amounted to 29,949, for a total of 2,555,264.
