The government is expected to announce at the end of the day on Sunday that Montreal, the Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches will move to the next level.

“I think we’re already there. We have seen increases in the number of cases in recent days, ”said Mr. Quirion.

The one who has held the post since 2011 believes that the population will have to step up its efforts to control the spread of the virus.

“If we want to reduce the intensity of this second wave, we already know the recipe, up to a certain point, and as a citizen, I think we must respect the instructions of Public Health,” added Mr. Quirion.

“The mask, the physical distancing, it is very, very, very important and to limit the number of people in the gatherings”, he explained.
