Jason Day withdraws early in final round

On the second hole of the course, Day simply walked off the field. He said he had a neck injury, he who woke up with stiffness there.

The 32-year-old was one of a small group of participants who, with a good day, could always hope to snatch the title. Before the start of the last 18 holes, he was in sixth place, tied with Englishman Tyrrell Hatton and American Justin Thomas, six strokes behind leader Russell Henley.
