The Titan runs away with victory

The Acadie-Bathurst Titan scored three unanswered goals in the third period to beat the Cape Breton Eagles 6-4 on Friday night at the KC Irving Regional Center.

The match was the affair of Logan Chisholm and Mathieu Desgagnés, who obtained braces. The latter began the offensive thrust of his team in the last third with a shorthanded success. Ben Allison and Cole Huckins followed with the winning goal and the insurance net.

First-year goaltender Chad Arsenault had a good night of work in goal for the Titan and collected a fourth victory in five games.

Dominant Islanders

In Halifax, the Charlottetown Islanders continued their strong start to the season with a 5-0 victory over the Mooseheads.

Goalkeeper Colten Ellis completed his 13th career QMJHL shutout, his first in the Islanders’ uniform, repelling 25 shots from the Mooseheads.

Offensively, forwards Cédric Desruisseaux and Thomas Casey led the charge, each scoring two goals and one assist. Desruisseaux already has seven successes since the start of the campaign.

Noah Laaouan was the other scorer for the Islanders, who have won four of their five games since the start of the schedule.
