Forward Joe Thornton has signed a contract with HC Davos, Switzerland, to play there while the National Hockey League (NHL) resumes activities.
This is what the daily said on Thursday Neue Zürcher Zeitung. Thornton has already made two stays with the Davos club, during the last two labor disputes that paralyzed the NHL. In 2004-2005, he scored 54 points in 40 games, before getting 36 in 33 outings in the 2012-2013 season.
The 41-year-old skater had seven goals and 24 assists for 31 points in 70 games with the San Jose Sharks last season. He is currently an unrestricted free agent, who received $ 2 million in 2019-2020.
