COVID-19: a McDonald’s restaurant closed in Montreal

A McDonald’s restaurant located on Decarie Boulevard in Montreal had to temporarily close its doors on Wednesday because an employee was infected with COVID-19.

“As a measure of extreme caution, the decision was taken to immediately close the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitation by a certified third party. We are working to reopen as quickly and safely as possible, ”McDonald’s Canada announced Thursday in a press release.

The company has asked colleagues who have been in close contact with the affected employee to go into self-isolation.

The last shift of this employee affected by COVID-19 was Thursday, October 8. He then worked from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next day.

All customers who frequented the restaurant at 7570, boulevard Décarie during this period are invited to follow public health guidelines.

During the first wave of the pandemic last spring, McDonald’s had to temporarily close at least three establishments in Montreal due to infected employees.
