Jesperi Kotkaniemi loaned to a Finnish team?

Montreal Canadiens forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi will sign a contract “in the days to come” authorizing his loan to the team in his hometown in Finland, Assat de Pori.

At least, that is what the daily “Satakunnan Kansa” reported on Thursday. The deal would allow Kotkaniemi to stay in shape while waiting for the next National Hockey League training camps to begin.
The 20-year-old skater wore Pori’s uniform in 2017-18, amassing 10 goals and 19 assists for 29 points in 57 games.
The third overall pick in the 2018 draft put a damper on a tough 2020 playoff season, scoring four goals in 10 games. He had settled for eight points in 36 games of the regular calendar.
