L’Isle-aux-Coudres: arrested for sex crimes dating back more than 40 years

Two men from L’Isle-aux-Coudres were arrested on Wednesday for a series of sexual offenses committed some forty years ago.

Émilien Tremblay, 73, allegedly attacked the modesty of a young girl, who was underage at the time the events allegedly occurred. The actions would have been taken in L’Isle-aux-Coudres, more precisely between January 1977 and December 1980.

The suspect will subsequently appear at the La Malbaie courthouse, on the count of indecent assault on a minor.

The other arrest concerns Viateur Tremblay, 66, also from L’Isle-aux-Coudres.

The sixty-year-old allegedly sexually assaulted a boy, who was underage at the time of the events which allegedly took place between January 1978 and December 1979. The acts were also allegedly taken in the L’Isle-aux-Coudres region.

The Sûreté du Québec specifies that since several victims have been identified, the structure for the management of investigations into serial crimes (GECS) has been deployed, which allows for better coordination.

According to information obtained by The newspaper, the two alleged victims have family ties and the two arrested men also have family ties.
