Lisbon | Cristiano Ronaldo, tested positive for COVID-19, left the Portugal team’s base camp on the outskirts of Lisbon on Wednesday to board a medical plane that was supposed to take him back to Turin, in the north of the country. ‘Italy, several Portuguese media reported.

The fivefold Golden Ball boarded a private jet which, according to images broadcast by CMTV television, took off in the afternoon from Tires aerodrome, located near Lisbon.
The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) announced on Tuesday that the Selecçao captain had tested positive for the new coronavirus the day after Portugal’s draw against France on Sunday in Saint-Denis (0-0), and that he would be package for the match against Sweden Wednesday in Lisbon, also in the League of Nations.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the latest footballer to date tested positive for the coronavirus after notably Neymar, Kylian Mbappé and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
