After the Atlanta Braves earlier in the day, the Los Angeles Dodgers in turn swept their opponents, the San Diego Padres, Thursday night.
They easily won 12-3 to join the Braves in the championship series. This clash was broadcast at VAT Sports and on TVA Sports direct.
Six different players produced the points for the winners. From the pack, Will Smith and Cody Bellinger stood out by sending three teammates each to home plate.
Smith also became the first wide receiver in baseball history to have five hits in a playoff game.
Joc Pederson was the source of two points for the Dodgers.
There is only one series left that is not over, the one between the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays, tied 2-2.
In the other AHL meeting, the Houston Astros eliminated the Oakland Athletics with an 11-6 win in the fourth game.
