COVID: hospital capacity in some regions could be exceeded

The capacity to hospitalize people severely affected by COVID-19 may be exceeded in some areas.

This was indicated on Friday by the National Institute of Excellence in Health and Social Services (INESSS), specifying that the increase in hospitalized patients projected over the coming weeks is greater in the regions than in Montreal. .

“The increase in projected hospitalizations is explained in particular by outbreaks in certain living environments housing the elderly”, it was specified, in the update of weekly data from INESSS, specifying that “if the outbreaks in these settings were avoided, the dedicated hospital capacity could be sufficient in these regions ”.
