It was only a matter of time before Texas tuner Hennessey decided to tackle the all-new 2021 Ford Bronco. Once that starts rolling out of the factory next year, expect to see shortly after the VelociRaptor V8 Bronco.
This hyper-powerful version of the all-terrain SUV will harness a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 and develop no less than 750 horsepower. That’s significantly more than the turbocharged four- and six-cylinder engines offered by Ford, which generate 270 and 310 horsepower, respectively.
This is the same supercharged V8 that Hennessey is used to fitting in F-150 Raptors in place of the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. Equipped with the same 10-speed automatic transmission, the Super Bronco will be able to accelerate from 0 to 97 km / h in just 4.5 seconds, according to company estimates.
New injectors, an upgraded stainless steel exhaust system and a reprogramming of the engine control module will help make it all possible.
The transformation of the vehicle will not be limited to the mechanics, of course. We find a custom-created hood with an integrated air intake, a grille and graphics exclusive to the VelociRaptor V8 Bronco, revised bumpers, a reinforced suspension seated on new tires and wheels, as well as a lined interior. leather and personalized by Hennessey.
Production for the 2021 model year will be limited to just 24 units, both two-door and four-door. Each will cost – hold on tight – US $ 225,000, or the equivalent of $ 300,000 Canadian, not including taxes and shipping.
Note in closing that Ford is also working on its side on a supercharged version of the Bronco (possibly called “Bronco Warthog”), but this one will not have more than six cylinders. And it can be assumed that Hennessey will want to strike back once more.
