Despite the confirmation of 206 new cases of coronavirus in the greater Quebec City region, the most optimistic will see some encouraging signs in the balance sheet on the north shore of the river, where the curve of cases was slightly down on Sunday.

Health authorities have confirmed 116 new cases of COVID-19 over a twenty-four hour period in the Capitale-Nationale and no new deaths in this territory. This is a drop of around twenty new cases compared to Saturday’s balance sheet and it is also the first time since September 30 that no deaths have been deplored.
If one relies on the data of the last three days, Vieille-Capitale would seem to find a level of transmission similar to that which prevailed at the beginning of the month, at a time when the situation was considered critical enough to fall into the red zone. In summary, it is moving away from the peak of 272 new cases there is something, but it has not regained the thresholds of about fifty new cases which was observed in mid-September.
On the Chaudière-Appalaches side, however, there is no noticeable improvement. There are 90 more infected people counted over a twenty-four hour period, which is about the average for the last few days. Moreover, the region remains very close to its record of 98 new cases recorded last Tuesday.

The cumulative reports are therefore, for the Capitale-Nationale, of 8,233 infected people and 285 since the start of the pandemic, and 3,139 infected people and 57 people died in Chaudière-Appalaches.
