Singer Justin Bieber tells about the dark side that accompanies childhood celebrity to his most recent song.
“Lonely,” whose music video was uploaded at midnight Friday, already has over 10 million views on YouTube.
In it, the young actor Jacob Tremblay, embodies the role of the Canadian singer at the time he was discovered. Justin Bieber was only 13 when he was approached by his Scooter Braun manager. His career really took off when he was 16.
Now 26, Bieber is recalled to highlight the pressure and psychological challenges that come with being famous at a young age.
Shortly after the release of his new song, Justin Bieber took to social media again to share his experience directing the music video.
“Honestly, it’s very difficult for me to listen to this song considering how difficult it was to get through these chapters in my life. I think it’s powerful to expose vulnerability and that’s why I think this song is powerful. ”
Last year, Justin Bieber spoke about his mental health on his social media.
“I was only 18, with no knowledge of reality, with millions of dollars to have access to anything I wanted. It’s a rather surreal concept for anyone, ”he wrote.
Here are some excerpts from “Lonely”:
“What if you had it all
But nobody to call?
Maybe then you’d know me
‘Cause I’ve had everything
But no one’s listening
And that’s just f *** lonely ”
“Everybody knows my past now
Like my house was always made of glass
And maybe that’s the price you pay
For the money and fame at an early age »
“And everybody saw me sick
And it felt like no one gave as ** t
They criticized the things I did as an idiot kid »
