The Toronto Raptors unveiled Thursday morning three of five new jerseys they will wear during the next season, with red, white and black in particular.
In a video in which Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, Kyle Lowry, Terence Davis and Norman Powell participated, the organization presented its pieces of equipment which in their own way evoke its famous slogan “We the North”, which evokes the presence of the only Canadian formation in the NBA.
For example, uniforms with a white and red background have a chevron pointing upwards. The inside of the band features the inscription “Raptors” in all capital letters. On the black bib, however, these letters are not surrounded by this band. This sweater, with its original look, is a nod to the one worn by players in the early days of the franchise.
“Uniforms are important to athletes,” team president Masai Ujiri said in a statement. We want to provide our players and fans with jerseys that they will be proud to put on. It won’t just be because of the Raptors wording on the top or the symbol of our city and our country, but also because of how beautiful they look. I think we succeeded with all of this. ”
The Raptors have used the same arsenal of jerseys over the past five seasons.
