In the world of electric vehicles, the Polestar 2 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated vehicles of the year.
The first “affordable” vehicle from Polestar, an electric division of the manufacturer Volvo, the Polestar 2 becomes a direct rival to the Tesla Model 3.
Unlike the Polestar 1 which is a plug-in hybrid vehicle, the Polestar 2 is powered by a fully electric motor. Two electric motors are on the menu, one for the front wheels and the other for the rear ones. We are thus entitled to a vehicle delivered as standard with all-wheel drive.
Made in China, the Polestar 2 is equipped with a 78 kWh battery allowing it a range which should approach 400 kilometers. The exact figure has yet to be confirmed, however.
How much does it cost?
The Polestar 2 will be available from $ 69,900 in Canada. It will therefore not be eligible for government subsidies granted to encourage the transition to electric vehicles. Note, however, that Polestar is targeting a rental price of $ 899 per month as well as a very aggressive financing rate of 0.9%.
