The greater Montreal region, the Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches are turning red, Prime Minister François Legault announced “with a big heart” on Monday evening.

“We have to take our responsibilities. The figures are without appeal. There is a significant increase in cases. It means significant increases in hospitalitations and deaths. the situation is critical and we must take decisions now, ”said Prime Minister François Legault.
Gatherings in private residences are prohibited. However, people living alone can receive one person from another address at a time.
Restaurant bars and dining rooms will be closed as of October 1 for the next 28 days. Bring meals are always allowed.
Performance venues, cinemas and meeting places will also close on Thursday.
The government is working on a formulation to “compensate for the losses” of the closings of bars and restaurants in October, said François Legault.
Outdoor gatherings without a two-meter distance are prohibited, but mask-wearing demonstrations are permitted.
Interregional travel is not prohibited, but is not recommended, except for essential travel.
François Legault also asks employers to promote teleworking as much as possible.
Quebec reported 750 additional cases and 1 death on Monday, bringing the total to 72,651 people infected since the start of the pandemic and 5,826 dead.
The province recorded 896 new cases of COVID-19 and four deaths on Sunday.
