The boss of Quebecor Sports and Entertainment Group is begging Public Health to raise the limit for gatherings to 1,000 people this fall.

“If all goes well, in a month, when the start of the school year is over and the holidays are over, if we have the same number of cases, I think that Public Health will have to take note of the situation and be more permissive. We should be able to go up to 1000 with a respected protocol, ”says Martin Tremblay.
At Quebecor, going from 250 to 1,000 people would have a direct impact on the Capitol’s programming.
For now, concerts are announced for September and October, but nothing is planned for November and December. The management analyzes the situation before planning events.
Protect clubs
Such an increase would surely allow several small venues and clubs that can accommodate less than 250 people to breathe a bit. “We must protect them,” proclaims Nick Farkas, at evenko.
“The arena shows will start again, but if there are no more clubs across America, if there are no more places to play for local artists, it will hurt the entire industry. “
Mr. Farkas underlines that the stars who play in the amphitheatres very often make their first weapons in the small rooms. Hence the importance of keeping them alive.
“If too many clubs close, it’s going to cause problems in the future. Without this development system, fewer artists will tour, and we risk seeing changes in the industry. This is where artists learn to play in front of crowds, before heading to arenas. “
