Samsung’s new range of Galaxy phones is hitting the market at the start of 2021. Two new models are therefore entering the market, the Galaxy S21, S21 + 5G and S21 5G Ultra. Two devices that always offer more power, a new look and new features for capturing videos.
Usually launched in February / March waters, Samsung is getting ahead with these new Galaxy phone models.
Taking advantage of the week of CES 2021, the South Korean company presented the novelties of its Galaxy S21 5G, S21 + 5G and S21 Ultra 5G which will be available in Canada from January 29, 2021.
At first glance, these new devices do not seem to want to revolutionize the range, but rather to be an especially aesthetic update with new features for video and photos.
Features of Galaxy S21 and S21 + 5G phones
Like all new phones, the Galaxy S21 5G and S21 + 5G will offer more power to perform our various actions more quickly and efficiently. The latter will also be equipped with the Snapdragon 888 chip.
Samsung has also made changes to the look of the device with a new camera body that blends in better with the frame of the device.
The Galaxy S21 5G offers a 6.2-inch screen, while the S21 + 5G has a 6.7-inch screen.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 5G and S21 + 5G will be offered in pink, white, gray and purple.
Both models feature a dynamic edge-to-edge AMOLED 2X Infinty-0 display with 120Hz refresh rate that provides superb fluidity when browsing the web, watching videos or playing games. .
In terms of the camera, Samsung has skipped the 50x zoom of the Galaxy S20 and instead adopts a 30x zoom with better stabilization thanks to a zoom lock which in theory will limit the shaking of our hands.
Much like the S20 and S20 +, these new models will be able to shoot in 8K, but the S21 5G and S21 + 5G will offer new features called Director’s Vision and Vlogger’s Vision.
The director’s vision will allow us to see and switch from one shot to another to choose the best angle for our videos.
As for the vlogger’s vision, this function allows you to film simultaneously with the camera on the front and the back of the phone. We can therefore film our reactions to the content we capture.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 5G will have 8 GB of RAM and will be available from $ 1129.99 for the 128 GB model and $ 1199.99 for the 256 GB model. It will be available in Phantom Pink, Phantom White, Gray Phantom (256GB model) and Phantom Violet.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 + 5G will also have 8 GB of memory life and will be available from $ 1399.99 for the 128GB model and $ 1469.99 for the 256GB model. It will be offered in Phantom Purple, Phantom Silver and Phantom Black.
The characteristics of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G
The Ultra range came to the fore last year and the Galaxy S21 will also be entitled to its Ultra version which, as its name suggests, becomes the cream of the range.
In terms of look, this new model is also entitled to a new camera body, but above all a matte finish on the back for a look that will stand out from the others in the range.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G will also stand out thanks to its matte finish.
The S21 Ultra 5 has a 6.8-inch 2X AMOLED screen with an image refresh rate of 120 Hz and a Quad HD + display.
Although Samsung displays dominate the market for their quality, the S21 Ultra 5G will offer 25% more clarity and a better contrast ratio for an ever sharper picture.
In addition to its characteristics, the Ultra wants to stand out with its camera system including a main lens of 108Mpx.
We find again a 100X zoom, but this time with a dual lens that combines two optical lenses of 3X and 10x. We are curious to see the quality, because the 100x zoom of the S20 Ultra was, let’s say… horrible.
Samsung is also talking about better photo quality in low light situations with its new sensors.
Finally, two notable new features, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G will be able to support Wi-Fi 6 for even more speed (if you have a Wi-Fi 6 router). Then, this device will be compatible with S Pen style (sold separately).
The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G will have 12GB of RAM and will be available from $ 1,649.99 (128GB), $ 1,719.99 (256GB), and $ 1,809.99 (512GB). They will be available in Phantom Black and Phantom Silver (except the 256GB model).
All three devices are currently available for pre-order and will officially hit the market on January 29, 2021.
It remains to be seen in concrete terms the user experience when we have had the chance to have the device in hand.
