This is obviously his role as commissioner, but Gary Bettman could hardly be more enthusiastic about organizing the Seattle Kraken.
“To say they are doing well would be an understatement, it’s really phenomenal how well they are doing,” Bettman said of the Kraken executives in an interview with Sportsnet on Thursday.
The commissioner even argued that the Kraken, which will debut in the 2021-2022 season, will be one of the most successful dealerships in the league.
“They’re putting a lot of pieces in place, whether it’s the allocation of seats to subscribers, the sale of sponsorships or the construction of the arena and the training complex,” Bettman said. And they do it wonderfully well. ”
“Having Seattle in the league, I believe, will make our circuit and our sport even stronger,” continued the commissioner. The Kraken organization is determined not only to get it right within the NHL, but also with respect to hockey development programs and promotion in Washington State. ”
