The Vancouver Canucks formalized defenseman Travis Hamonic’s arrival with the team on Tuesday by awarding him a one-season, $ 1.25 million contract.
Hamonic had accepted a professional test contract with the BC club on January 3 for training camp. He is expected to replace Troy Stecher, who joined the Detroit Red Wings through the free agent market.
Hamonic had three goals and 12 points in 50 games in 2019-20 with the Calgary Flames. It was used an average of 21:12 per encounter.
The Manitoba native played 637 National League games with the New York Islanders and Flames, totaling 37 goals, 188 points and 591 penalty minutes.
