Promutuel Insurance’s computer system gradually resumed service on Tuesday in the wake of a cyber attack.
In a press release, Promutuel said that with the resumption of its activities, it was now possible to respond to customer requests, including the settlement of claims. The company will work over the next few weeks to restore all of its services, including telephone systems.
It also asserts that customers remain protected under their contract, even if the authorized debits have not been made.
Promutuel still does not know what data could have been compromised in the computer attack that occurred last month.
An investigation is underway, but the insurer is committed to protecting its customers “if the situation requires”.
The company insisted that it would take the necessary time to “go through all the security steps that this situation requires.”
“One thing is certain, before ‘doing it quickly’, it is above all necessary to ‘do well’ and ensure a safe recovery, to the benefit of the insured members,” she said.www.lesaffaires.com
