Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is reshuffling three important ministries at the start of the year.
Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, has told his leader that he does not intend to run in the next election. Prime Minister Trudeau therefore entrusts this portfolio to François-Philippe Champagne, who was in Foreign Affairs.
It is Marc Garneau who replaces Mr. Champagne at the prestigious Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The post of Minister of Transport is vacant. It is entrusted to Omar Alghabra who was until this morning Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister and to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs.
