The Corporation de gestion des marchés publics de Montréal has a new general manager in the person of Nicolas Fabien-Ouellet who has been acting in the position since 2019.
“We are confident to have in Nicolas [Fabien-Ouellet] the best person to lead the development of markets and continue the work started, ”said in a press release Tuesday, Serge Marticotte, chairman of the board.
For the administration of Mayor Valérie Plante, the development of the public procurement network is one of the important measures contained in the 2021 economic recovery plan.
“We aim to position public markets at the heart of Montreal’s biofood system, these markets meet a real demand from Montrealers for fresh and local products and Mr. Fabien-Ouellet will be an important partner in this process,” said Luc Rabouin, responsible for the economic and commercial development and design of the City of Montreal.
An agrifood expert, Mr. Fabien-Ouellet joined the Corporation de gestion des marchés publics de Montréal in January 2018 as development manager.
“The public markets network is at the heart of the local purchasing movement in Montreal and we will continue to propel it to improve food access of fresh produce while bringing the Montreal population closer to local agricultural and food businesses”, said Mr. Fabien-Ouellet.
