(Toronto) Seven works by Quebec painter Jean Paul Riopelle are among the most prestigious pieces to be virtually auctioned Wednesday evening by Maison Heffel in Toronto.
The Web Untitled, painted nearly 70 years ago by the famous Montreal artist, will likely be the star of the evening with a starting price of between $ 1.2 million and $ 1.8 million.
Oil on canvas The water line, a work from 1977, could be sold for between $ 800,000 and $ 1.2 million.
Maison Heffel reports that Woman with Revolver, a 1987 work by Alex Colville, will be auctioned for the first time at an estimated value of between $ 600,000 and $ 800,000.
Three works by Lawren Harris, a member of the Group of Seven, will be presented, including Pyramid Mt., Jasper Park, a 1924 creation. The Group of Seven is particularly famous for its illustrations of Canadian landscapes.
The Heffel House specifies that more than a hundred works will be auctioned Wednesday evening for a total value which should oscillate between 10 million and 15 million.
