The start of the winter season will likely be given on Sunday evening when several regions of Quebec will receive between 5 to 10 centimeters of snow, the north of the St. Lawrence River may even be entitled to accumulations of up to 15 centimeters.
According to Environment Canada, accumulations of 5 to 10 cm will notably affect the island of Montreal, Laval, Montérégie, Center-du-Quebec and the Quebec region.
The snowfall will begin Sunday evening before changing to rain at the end of the night in some regions, the federal agency said.
The North Shore, Montreal and the Laurentians could also experience an episode of freezing rain.
In Haute-Mauricie, in the Laurentides wildlife reserve, in Saguenay and on the North Shore, between 10 and 20 cm of snow should fall from Sunday evening to Monday.
