The Seahawks seized the top spot in the National Association’s Western Division on their own, defeating the Arizona Cardinals by a 28-21 score Thursday night in Seattle.
It was a touchdown from Carlos Hyde on a two-yard run in the third quarter that made the difference for the home team. A 41-yard field goal from Jason Myers in the fourth period allowed the Seahawks (7-3) to secure the victory over the Cardinals (6-4).
Myers also had a field goal for 27 yards earlier in the game.
Quarterback Russell Wilson had two touchdown passes for the Seattle team, including a 25-yard one to DK Metcalf. He also joined Tyler Lockett on 11 yards for the major.
Wilson completed 23 of his 28 stints for 197 passing yards.
On the Cardinals side, pivot Kyler Murray managed touchdown passes to Dan Arnold and Chase Edmonds. He made 29 of his 42 passing attempts for gains of 269 yards.
Kenyan Drake scored the visitors’ other touchdown following a turnaround in the first quarter.
