Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored his first goal since joining Assat de Pori in La Liiga in Finland on Wednesday.
The Montreal Canadiens center put on the needle in the first period of the game against the Lahti Pelicans.
As his team took advantage of a power play, the 20-year-old forward hit the target with a wrist shot. Nicolai Meyer and Sebastian Wännström got assists.
That goal put Pori’s side up to a 1-0 lead, but the Pelicans tied the game later in the opening.
In his first seven games for Assat, Kotkaniemi had collected three assists.
