COVID-19: New screening clinic in Jonquière

Last week in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, the queues outside screening clinics were long and patients were having difficulty getting an appointment. However, a new clinic has been available since Sunday in the Jonquière sector, in Saguenay.

The clinic takes place at Calypso, in a multifunctional room. With this addition and with the changes made to the clinic in the Chicoutimi sector, the CIUSSS du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean is going from 1,500 to 2,000 tests per day.

  • Listen to journalist Alexandre Dubé with Benoit Dutrizac on QUB Radio:

The addition of the clinic in the Jonquière region has been well received by the citizens of the region, who do not have to travel to that of the old port of Chicoutimi.

The portal for making Clic Santé appointments has also been modified: it is now possible to make an appointment more than 24 hours in advance.

Once again, this change had a positive impact on citizens. No queue was visible outside the clinics and appointments were still available Monday morning.

With nearly 200 positive cases still on Monday in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, the region’s CIUSSS recalls that to make an appointment at a screening clinic, people must have symptoms associated with COVID-19, having been in contact with a positive person or have received a public health call.
