Former Finance Minister Bill Morneau will become a Senior Fellow at the Jackson Institute on Global Affairs at Yale University in the United States.
He will take office next January and will give a course in the spring on economic policy development, the university said in a press release.

He will therefore find himself alongside other renowned researchers such as former US Secretary of State John Kerry.
At the same time, Mr. Morneau is campaigning as a candidate for the post of Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
He resigned as minister in the wake of the WE Charity affair, which embarrassed Justin Trudeau’s Liberals throughout last summer.
The former treasurer had argued that his departure was motivated by the fact that he did not wish to stand for re-election in the next federal election.
The WE Charity case erupted after the Trudeau government entrusted the organization, without a call for tenders, to manage a scholarship program for student volunteering. The charity has ties to the Prime Minister’s family and to Mr. Morneau’s.
