COVID-19: Dizzying peak of 125 new cases in Chaudière-Appalaches

The Chaudière-Appalaches region experienced a spectacular jump in the number of infections on Saturday, with 125 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in 24 hours, a sad record.

This is the first time that the daily toll in this region has surpassed the 100 case mark. This is a new high that is surprising, given that Chaudière-Appalaches had an average of 65 new cases per day recently.

The previous record was 98 new cases on October 21.

By the same token, the total number of people infected with COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic on the south shore of Quebec is now 4,506. The region also records one additional death, bringing the number of victims of the disease to 96. coronavirus since March.

On the Capitale-Nationale side, six additional people unfortunately succumbed to the virus, bringing the cumulative number of deaths to 378.

For the second day in a row, the number of cases is also greater than 100, while 122 new cases of coronavirus were added to the portrait on Saturday.

Since the start of the pandemic, 9,934 have contracted the viral infection in this region.
