Quebec announces more than $ 1.5 billion to help workers and businesses

The government is releasing more than an additional $ 1.5 billion to help businesses and workers weather the pandemic and foster economic recovery.

In his economic update presented Thursday afternoon, the Minister of Finance, Eric Girard, announced a series of measures intended for businesses and workers:

  • $ 359 million for training and retraining of the workforce
  • $ 300 million for the Green Economy Plan
  • $ 166 million for the aeronautics, aluminum and life sciences sectors
  • $ 157 million to increase food autonomy
  • $ 148 million for research and innovation
  • $ 100 million for the digitalization of businesses
  • $ 100 million to improve graduation
  • $ 64 million for regional economic development
  • $ 60 million for the tourism industry
  • $ 50 million for the revival of city centers
  • $ 40 million to develop local supply chains
