I have read your post on the mechanical inspection of the Ram 1500, and you seem to be saying that it has several issues. Still, I was thinking of getting one. Is it a good product?
Several people seem to have understood that the Ram 1500 had several issues as a result of our mechanical text, but that is not necessarily the case. You see, we’d take any product to an experienced mechanic, and they’d find things to say.
Regarding the Ram, our mechanic did not find any major defect. He pointed out that some of the stuff was complex, and that adding a small electric motor to the 5.7L HEMI V8 could make maintenance more complex. He also pointed out that it was disappointing how much the underside of the car lacked protection compared to competing pickups, but additional skid plates can be purchased as an option.
In short, you really can’t say that the Ram is a bad vehicle. He has small flaws, like all the others.
I would even go so far as to say that in its kind, the Ram is rather unique! You see, if you’re looking for a pickup truck for everyday driving, without necessarily wanting to do some heavy lifting with your vehicle, the Ram 1500 is arguably the most comfortable, and the most fun to drive. What’s more, its HEMI engine is well-known, and doesn’t pose much of a reliability risk.
